You may requst an absentee ballot 180 days prior to the election up to the Friday before. Ballots will be mailed beginning 45 days prior to the election.

Actually, students who move frequently are encouraged to keep their instate home address registration and request absentee ballots be sent to their away from home school address. If they are living in a different county than their parents, the parent may even request that the absentee ballot be sent to the student at school on their behalf.

If a student registers at their school address in spring of 2012 and then moves next fall, they will need to update their voter registration in order to vote in the Presidential election - not necessary with absentee ballots!! That said, the most important thing is to register to vote (wherever you consider home!)

The date of the Georgia Presidential Preference Primary has not been announced yet. The Georgia Secretary of State's office has until December to release a date.

Yes. According to the Secretary of State - http://sos.georgia.gov/elections/voter_eligibility.htm - to be eligible to vote in Georiga you must be:

-A citizen of the United States.
-A legal resident of Georgia and of the county in which you wish to vote.
-At least 17 1/2 years of age.
